What is a car insurance deductible and how does it work?
A deductible is the amount of money that an insured driver will be required to pay in the event of an accident. Deductibles only go toward damages incurred by the insured, and if the damages exceed the deductible, the insurance provider will cover the additional cost. Deductibles apply to comprehensive and collision coverage plans, but not to strict liability plans; therefore, there will be no deductible for damages incurred by another party.
